Foday Turay

Mr. Foday Turay holds a M.Sc. in Post-Harvest Technology from Njala University and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Engineering, which he completed in 2016 and 2011, respectively. Following his graduation, he began his career as a Research Assistant (RA) at the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI), where he was attached to the Kenema Forestry and Tree Crops Research Centre (KFTCRC). After completing his M.Sc. program, he was promoted to Research Officer (RO-II) with a focus on Agricultural Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology.

In 2013, Mr. Turay participated in the ASREP Survey in Pujehun District, which encompassed eleven chiefdoms. He received training in cashew production, processing, and value chain addition in Ghana and the Ivory Coast in 2018. He has actively participated in the implementation of several projects. In 2019 and 2020, he was tasked by SOLIDARIDAD with establishing the first Cashew Clonal Gardens at the Kpuwabu and Pendembu Research Stations of KFTCRC.

Additionally, Mr. Turay has engaged in research work and publications within his field, collaborating with other scientists at the centre, Njala University, and Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone (ETU-SL) on various research initiatives and publications.
